The Books and Hoops program has made tremendous progress. Over the past few weeks I’ve been in touch with an up and coming graphic artist to create a logo. An IT consultant and I have been working to build a website. Business contacts have provided feedback to build a successful program. Most importantly, I’ve been in touch with two schools to begin the Books and Hoops program.

Books and Hoops Update

Progress has been made for the Books and Hoops program. Thank you so much to those of you who have reached out to offer insight and given me lots of support in this endeavor. Many of you have been great sound boards to bounce ideas off of. While others have generously offered resources. All assistance is greatly appreciated!


Over the past week I’ve been able to secure a target group of fourth and fifth graders in Randolph, MA for Books and Hoops. Specific details like time and date will be coming soon. The goal of Books and Basketball is to close the achievement gap by increasing reading proficiency. Books and Hoops will raise reading enthusiasm by connecting reading strategies with basketball.
